Rosie Emery: Kids Entertainer with a Green Message

Rosie

The popularity of children's music has grown considerably in recent years. Entertainers like Laurie Berkner and Dan Zanes made successful careers out of getting kids to sing and dance along to catchy music. Established adult stars like Lisa Loeb have also gotten in on the act of producing kids music. The popularity of kids music has also been enhanced by television shows like Jack's Big Music Show and DVDs like Elmopalooza that feature music geared toward kids.

Among this trend, an entertainer with a green message has emerged. Rosie Emery's career has spanned over 20 years of creating kids music and edutainment programs that help children learn about the environment around them.

She has toured schools internationally, bringing fun with a wilderness twist. From 1997 to 2002, Rosie produced the critically acclaimed Rainbow Road Tour, an Eco-rock production that visited hundreds of schools across Canada and the northern United States. She has also been seen frequently on television and has appeared in specials on Canadian CTV, WTN and YTV as well as on the Hawaiian PBS Kids Science show.

Rosie has also recorded 3 CDs of kids music with a nature theme. Her 1995 CD, Dolphin Teach us to Play, predated the children's music of Laurie Berkner and Dan Zanes. Her collaboration with Rocky Gallo on The Rainbow Road and her most recent solo CD, We're all Interconnected, also feature great children's music.

All of here efforts have been to entertain children and educate then about nature. Next time you're looking to fill up the iPod of a young family member, consider the music of Rosie Emery!
