Selkirk Shores State Park is located on the shores of Lake Ontario in upstate New York. The park is well known for offering spectacular sunsets over the Great Lake.

The park offers hiking and biking trails and during the winter months these trails can be used for cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Camping is available at campsites that overlook a bluff on Lake Ontario. There are 143 campsites and 26 cabins available for reservation.

Blackbird State Forest is located near Smyrna, Delaware and is along the border of Kent and New Castle counties. It is Delaware's northernmost state forest.

There are 40 miles of trails through the forest that can be used for hiking, biking and horseback riding. There is also a 2,200 foot paved nature trail that is wheelchair accessible.

Harriman State Park is the second largest state park in New York and is located in Rockland and Orange Counties. There are miles of streams and over 30 lakes and reservoirs, including Lake Sebago, Lake Tiorati, Lake Welch and Lake Kanawauke.

There are over 40 marked trails that total 225 miles of footpaths. Over 18 miles of the Appalachian Trail run through the park. For overnight visitors, there are two public camping areas.

Grafton Notch State Park is located in Newry, Maine and encompasses the notch between Old Speck Mountain and Bald Plate. Within the park are Screw Auger Falls and Mother Walker Falls, which are popular places for families to visit.

Clarence Fahnestock State Park is located in Putnam and Dutchess Counties in New York. The park has over 14,000 acres of forest and has a rich history for mining iron ore. Evidence of the iron industry remain in the form of mine excavations and stone building foundations.
