Jekyll Island is a barrier island on Georgia's coast that is located midway between Savannah and Jacksonville, Florida. The island is owned by state of Georgia and operated by the Jekyll Island Authority. Development is limited to 35 percent of the island, preserving most of it as native ecosystem.

Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is located in Humboldt County, California and protects old-growth Coast Redwood trees. Many of the redwoods reach over 300 feet high and the third largest Coast Redwood, named Iluvatar, is located in the park's Atlas Grove. The forest within the park is also comprised of Coast Douglas Fir, Sitka Spruce and Western Hemlock. In addition to the redwood forest, the park also contains Gold Bluffs Beach which represents 10 miles of scenic coastline on the Pacific Ocean.

Barefoot Beach Preserve County Park is located on a barrier island in Southwest Florida's Gulf Coast and is part of the Collier County park system. The park features 8200 feet of beach on the Gulf of Mexico that is popular for swimming and fishing. Little Hickory Bay and Wiggins Pass are other major water features within the preserve.

Grand Canyon National Park is located in Coconino and Mohave counties, Arizona and protects over 1.2 million acres of the famous Grand Canyon. The canyon is a massive gorge formed by the Colorado River and is considered on of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles across at its widest and up to a mile deep.

Grand Canyon National Park was created in 1919 and is the United States 15-oldest national park. Over 4 million people visit the park annually to view the natural wonders of the canyon.
