Location

Cowan Lake State Park is located in Clinton County, Ohio. A central feature of the park is the 700-acre Cowan Lake, which is surrounded by deciduous forest comprised of maple and beech trees.

Indian Cave State Park is located in Southeast Nebraska near the Missouri River. The park is named for a large sandstone cavity whose walls are etched with petroglyphs.

The Missouri River provides plenty of recreation opportunities for families. Boating is popular and a boat ramp provides river access. Fishing is available on the shoreline of the river and via boat.

Fort Harrison State Park is located in Lawrence, Indiana and is 9 miles from downtown Indianapolis. It is located at the former site of Fort Benjamin Harrison, which was opened in 1906. As a result of the end of the Cold War, the fort was decommissioned in 1991 and in 1995 over half of the land was given to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources for use as a park.

Golden Gate Canyon State Park is located 30 miles west of Denver, Colorado and is a great escape for families in the city. The park is known for being picturesque during the autumn and snowy winters.

Farragut State Park is located in Northern Idaho near the town of Athol. The park located in the Coeur d'Alene Mountains at the southern tip of the Lake Pend Oreille, the largest lake in Idaho. During World War II, the Lake was used as an inland Naval training base and the park is named for Admiral David Farragut, who was the first Admiral in the United States Navy.

The Eagle boat launch provides boating access to the lake.
