Brandywine Creek State Park is located near Wilmington, DE. The land was formerly a dairy farm and stone walls remain standing throughout the park.

There are two nature preserves within the park. The Tulip Tree Woods preserve protects a stand of 190-year-old tulip poplar trees. The Freshwater Marsh preserve protects the area marshland.

There are 14 miles of hiking trails within the park made up up of 4 main trails: Indian Springs, Rocky Run Trail, Hidden Pond and Northern Delaware Greenway Trail. The portion of the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail is an easy family-friendly hike. Hidden Pond and Indian Springs range in difficulty from easy to moderate and there are some challenging sections in the latter trail.
