Florida Outdoor Destinations
Florida is located in the Southeast United States and much of the state is located on a peninsula. The peninsula has the Atlantic Ocean on its eastern side and the Gulf of Mexico on its western side. The state is relatively flat and it's highest point is a mere 345 feet above sea level.
Florida provides a wide range of outdoor activities for families and water is a central part of outdoor recreation. There are 11 National Parks, including Everglades National Park, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection operates 160 state parks.
