Allaire State Park is located in the New Jersey coastal plain region and the Manasquan River is a prominent feature. The river a popular spot for fishing and canoeing and its floodplain provides habitat for over 200 species of plants. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife and is a frequent resting place for migratory birds.

Located within the park is Allaire Village, which has an interesting history as a 19th-century iron making town. The Pine Creek Railroad is a popular family attraction and is operational today with antique steam trains.

There is a network of trails that offers many opportunities for hiking and biking. Horseback riding is also a popular activity. Campsites are open all year long for those who want to spend the night.
