High Point State Park is located in the northwestern part of New Jersey in what is known as the Skylands Region. It includes the is the highest point in the state of New Jersey at 1,803 feet, which also happens to be the highest peak of the Kittatinny Mountains.
The peak is just southeast of Port Jervis, New York is marked by High Point Monument, a 220-foot tower, built in 1930. From High Point, three different states can be seen: New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
There are 50 miles of trails through High Point, including a portion of the Appalachian Trail. Camping is available in 50 tent campsites, 2 group campsites, 2 cabins and a group cabin.
