Mahlon Dickerson Reservation is located in Jefferson Township, New Jersey and is the largest park in the Morris County park system. A major feature of the park is the Headley Overlook, which is one of the highest points in the county park system. The highest point within Morris County is located along the Pine Swamp Trail and is 1395 feet above sea level.

Hiking is a popular family activity and there are over 20 miles of multi-use trails within Mahlon Dickerson Reservation. The trails are also popular for mountain biking and the park held some the earliest mountain biking races within New Jersey.

Families can camp overnight at one of the camping areas. One area has 8 tent sites and 4 Adirondack shelters, which include picnic tables and fire rings. The RV area has 18 paved sites, electric hookups, seasonal water hook-ups, charcoal grills and picnic tables. The RV area has heated restrooms and showers and a volleyball/badminton court.
