Ringwood State Park is located in the Ramapo Mountains in Passaic County, New Jersey. It contains the State Botanical Garden at Skylands Manor, Ringwood Manor, and the Shepherd Lake Recreation Area.

The Shepherd Lake Recreation Area contains a 74 acre, spring-fed lake, which is used for swimming, fishing and electic-motor boating. The New York - New Jersey Trail Conference maintains a network of trails in the recreation area surrounding the lake. Some are multi-use trails that may be used for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross country skiing.
