Oklahoma Outdoor Destinations

Most of Oklahoma lies in the prairies of the Great Plains region and is interspersed with small mountain ranges and forests. The state's highest point is the 4973-foot peak of Black Mesa and it's lowest point is 289 feet above sea level.

Oklahoma has a number of public lands offering families great opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are 50 state parks, six national parks & protected areas, two national forests & grasslands and other wildlife preserves and protected areas.
