Occoneechee State Park is located in Clarksville, VA on the shoreline of John H. Kerr Reservoir, which is also known as Buggs Island Lake. The park is named for the Occoneechee Native American tribe that lived in the area in the 1600s. A visitor center and museum provide educational programs and exhibits about the area's Native Americans.

There are over 18 miles of trails within the park, including a a 15-mile multi-purpose trail that is popular for hiking, biking and horseback riding. For overnight visitors, there are 11 cabins, two lodges, 88 campsites and 11 equestrian campsites.
